RE

Meet the team:

Mrs C Gould – Curriculum Lead of RE

Have you ever wondered about the big questions? Why am I here? What is the purpose of life? Am I a little cog in a big machine or a big cog in a little machine? Am I a character in a computer game and someone pressed pause and forgot about me?

That was me until I found philosophy, theology and ethics.

The world and our interactions are getting wider and wider and knowing about the people who live in it is more and more vital. The amount of fake news and biased reporting mean that unless you know people from different communities you have little chance of knowing what people do and why they do it.

This is where Philosophy, Ethics and Religion fits in.

I am passionate about respect for all. Students respecting each other’s opinions and students learning what they actually think about things not what the media or their friends say they should think.

I love the challenge of making students think and getting them to a stage where they make me think, usually through an unusual perspective to a thought dilemma written by the great philosophers of the past.
