Great Wyrley Academy

A Level Results

We are delighted to report a fantastic set of results this year for the Year 13 students at Great Wyrley Academy. This is testament to the hard work and dedication shown by our students and staff. Our students can be proud that they have achieved the best progress scores since the sixth form opened; demonstrating our commitment to excellence for all students.

This year 66% of all grades were at A* - C and an overall 99% pass rate; an exceptional achievement and and outstanding improvement in our first year as an academy.

Every student who wanted to go to university got a place on a course of their choice including: Zak Wootton who is going to do a Masters in Psychology degree at the University of York; Lucy Wiggin who is going to the University of Leeds to study Ecology and Conservation Biology; Freya Ganley who is going to the University of Bristol to study Forensic Science and Katy Gittus - who got an amazing three A*s and an A - is going on to study English Language at the University of Lancaster.

We are overjoyed that the A Level and BTEC results have improved as our sixth form flourishes. The commitment and enthusiasm of our staff and students has paid dividends. We wish all of our students well as they move on to University or their new chosen careers.
